DHEC hosts pre-registration

DEMOPOLIS The University of West Alabama held a pre-registration on the campus of the Demopolis Higher Education Center on Tuesday to help student get enrolled in classes at the UWA campus in Livingston as well as in classes held at the DHEC.
Members of UWA’s admissions office were on hand to help students register for spring classes.
UWA classes being taught at the DHEC in the Spring 2010 semester include Accounting II, Written English I and II, environmental science, general psychology, electricity and electronics and comprehensive aid drafting.
“We will still take registration on an ongoing basis,” said DHEC director Angelia Mance. “We’ll have late registration again in the spring semester, when we’ll have personnel on campus. That will be on Jan. 8, but students can come out at any time, and we can help them.”
Mance added that students can register for classes at either the UWA main campus or the DHEC campus. Students can also register online at www.uwa.edu. Those wanting to register for classes at the Demopolis campus and click on the DHEC link at the UWA Web site.
“Several of our classes are already getting full, like environmental science and Western Civ,” said Mance. “We are especially excited to add some things that have never been taught before, like the applied nutrition class, which is a component of the nursing program.”
