U.S. Jones announces geography fair winners

Students at U.S. Jones Elementary School took part in a geography fair on Nov. 17-18.
Students from the third, fourth and fifth grade created presentations highlighting information about their chose country or U.S. state and put them on display in the school gymnasium.
Kennedi Thompson was the overall winner with her presentation on Belgium. Fifth-grader Camilla Tutt, fourth-grader Tucker Brace and third-grader Henry Overmyer each took home first-place trophies.
Those earning the Principal’s Award were Ja’mya Andrews, Alexander Besteder, William Boggs, TyAsia Bonner, Charles Casper, Madalyn Colgrove, David Crawford, Jasmine Davis, Annabelle Duckett, Tyler Elmore, Sydney Griggers, Darian Harris, Serena Hogan, A.J. Jones, Brianna Jones, Andrew Knight, Jackson Lay, Ashley Lyons, Alyssa Martinez, Miriam Martinez, Allison Moore, Dale Moore, Trey Murdock, Casey Nicholson, A.J. Nixon, Antonio Nixon, Macey Petrey, Samuel Plummer, Abbey Polk, Briasia Sams, Charise Smith, Kassidy Smith, NadiaValdivia, Sarah Margaret Veres, Jacobie Walker, Jakobi Ware, Gavin Webb, Sherry Yarbrough and Paul Young.
Fifth-graders Natalie Saliba, fourth-grader Mary McClain Colgrove and third-graders Alexander Saliba won second-place trophies for their presentations, and fifth-grader Makayla Moore, fourth-grader Andrew Patterson and third-grader Luke Lindsey each won third-place trophies.
Those earning honorable mention were Rodrick Gaines, Jeremy Jackson, Zoe Ray, Hunter Tangle and Cheyan Wilkinson.
Fifth-grade honorable mentions included Terrance Allen, Roderick Anderson, Lauren Boone, Lavoria Branch, Sylvia Clayton, R.J. Cox, Keyandra Davis, Trace Dixon, Ellen Dunklin, Ashley Dunn, Jalerya Ford, Leah George, Langdon Griffin, Ashley Hudgins, Kameron James, Blair Jowers, Nicholas Manning, Logan McVay, Milo Merriweather, Mackenzie Ochiltree, Kimberly Parker, Caroline Poole, Courtney Smith, Gavin Tate, Gavin Webb, Skylar Wilson and Joseph Wyatt.
Fourth-grade honorable mentions included Philip Akins, Blake Bergman, Madelyn Brooker, Zachary Chu, Evan Cross, Cameron Dodd, Jordan Durrett, Molly Hare, Noah Hay, Shaelin Jones, Hunter Lewis, Tristan Mullen, Jalen Smith, Sam Velez, McKenzie Walker, Tyler Ward, Hannah Webb and Anna Kaye Williams.
Third-grade honorable mentions included Yahanthara Abdel-Malek, Eliza Boulware, Blakley Colgrove, Andy Cook, Casey Cramer, Jillian Dion, Makaela Etheridge, Julian Guerrero, Cameron Hadley, Parker Hallmark, Hudson Holley, Dalton Holtzclaw, Jeiden Isaac, Gage Martin, Avante Moore, Maci Nettles, Tyler Pipkins, Kyjuan Rhone, Jeffrey Sewell, Elias Smith, Michael Soronen, Tate Sparkman, Grant Tate, and Gray Tripp.
