Auxiliary awards pin winners

The Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary met in the Board Room at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14.
Buddy Jones, President, opened the meeting with the group reading The Volunteer’s Psalm.
The secretary, Johnnie Knott was unable to be there, so the roll call and minutes were read by Kathy Patterson.
Biboo Webb gave the treasurer’s report, and also announced and presented awards as follows:
150 hour pin - Alice Washburn; 500 hour bar - Peggy Dunklin, Johnnie Knott, Dashiell McKay, Aubrey Randall, Ruth Randall, Eloise Wilkerson and Dorothy Wright; 1,000 hour bar - Avis Payne, and 2,500 hour bar - Daphne Glaser and Grace Perolio.
The president welcomed back Linda Burnham and Margaret Carter. Both of these members had been out due to surgery.
Several other members have been having various health problems.
Buddy called out a list of anniversary dates of for members who began volunteer services in January.
He especially expressed appreciation for the great joy Louise Leet has been doing by telephoning all of the members to remind them of meetings and other matters that may come up.
Dewanda Ballard reported on the successful Corporate Wreath sales, and she also expressed appreciation to those members who put forth so much effort on this project.
Daphne Glaser told of plans for the Uniform Sale scheduled for Jan. 15 in the Classroom. Dashiell McKay and Rebecca Culpepper helped with the sale.
Sharon Farst, State President of the Hospital Auxiliary, gave a most interesting report on a recent trip to Mobile for a district meeting. She told of various fundraisers that other Auxiliaries are having, such as healthy eating, Children’s Diabetic Camp, Book sales, newsletters, etc.
Betty Baxley requested that she be contacted prior to special meetings so that she could take pictures for the scrapbook.
