Dear Editor,

I am writing this letter to thank everyone who helped make Christmas on the River 2001 I think one of the best we have had.

Our town comes together as a large family for one week to enjoy the celebration of Christmas and the atmosphere is felt by all who come every year.

I would like to thank Mr. Bonds and the DHS band members who worked this past weekend to set up and worked at the arts and craft show. This is the largest fundraiser we have to support our band with the many needs that they have throughout the year.

This is a tremendous job and dedication on their part to make it work for everyone to enjoy the weekend. The parents who also worked, I thank you for the time you put in to help with the setting up and cleaning up of the park on Friday and Saturday. I also want to thank the city of Demopolis workers for their help in cleaning up the park on Saturday, it takes several hours to put the park back like it was and it looked great on Sunday morning.

Thank you also goes out to: Alabama Power, Gaddy Electric, David McGee-Plaza Golf, Arrow, Demopolis Police Dept, Mark Pettus-Demopolis Sportsplex, Meridian Ice plant, Cathy Leveret and Dale Smith with the Chamber of Commerce, Coca Cola Company for bringing their Holiday Caravan, which we hope will be back next year.

I cannot leave out the vendors who came and participated in the Arts and Crafts Show, without you there would be no "Fair in the Square". We thank you for your continuous support of the Demopolis High School Band.

I want to personally also thank Gus Weiss, Marion McGee, Linda Julian, and Jeffery Carter for working with me on the "Fair in the Square" Sub-committee. You gave many hours to help get the park ready.

Thank you goes out to my family who has put up with endless hours of the phone ringing and the many hours I put in during the year to put the arts and crafts show together for it is a year long project.

May we work together to make Christmas on the River 2002 worth coming back to by all. God bless and Merry Christmas to all.
