Tickets at $6 each and are available at DHS, from students and staff, and at the foundation offices in the Landmark Gallery in downtown Demopolis.

Patrons may choose to eat in the DHS cafeteria or take advantage of the drive-through service, said Carlene Hooper, chairman of the event. Each plate includes fish, baked beans, cole slaw and hush puppies.

Those eating in the cafeteria also will be served tea.

James Lewis is heading the cooking team preparing the fish.

Dessert tables will also be set up both in the cafeteria and outside the school for those who wish to purchase sweets to go with their meal.

More than 1,300 tickets were sold for the DHS fish fry in 2001.

The fish fry is one of three DHS events planned for Schoolfest 2002 activities. Students and parents are also donating baked goods for sale at the school during break Tuesday through Thursday, April 23-25.

In addition, the faculty men and the senior boys will meet each other on the basketball court at 2:10 p.m. on Friday, April 26. Tickets for what is expected to be an entertaining event are $2 each.

Other schools in the city school system will also have Schoolfest events.

The Demopolis City Schools Foundation is a non-profit organization which supports the Demopolis city schools primarily through mini-grants to teachers.
