Ethel Gertrude Ward, 93, of Linden, died Sunday, April 28, 2002, at the Marengo Nursing Home.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 30, 2002, at the Half Acre Cemetery in Sweet Water with Rev. W.J. Cannon officiating.

Burial was directed by O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden.

Mrs. Ward was a member of the Half Acre Community Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edwin Ward.

She is survived by a daughter, Madelyn W. Jones of Sweet Water; three grandsons, Daryl (Rhonda) Jones of Linden, Michael (Traci) DeLoach in Half Acre, and Paul (Faye) DeLoach in York; three great-grandsons, Wayne Jones and Mark Jones, both of Linden, and Curtis Wright of York; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers were James Tucker, Charles Tucker, Henry Vick, Johnny Bullock, Kelly Etheridge and John Payne Thomas.

Honorary pallbearers were the staff of the Marengo Nursing Home.
