The Demopolis High Scool Tigers football team must face their third region foe in a row Friday night against the Greensboro High School Raiders.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

The Tigers are coming off an impressive 50-8 road win September 13 over Greene County.

Sometimes they were bringing more than we had to block them. And we missed some blocks early in the game.

It took us a little bit of time to figure out where they were coming from," he said.

"About the end of the first quarter, we figured out where they were coming from and what we were going to do. From that point on, offensively, we played pretty well.

Of course, that allowed them to score an 80-yard run.," Goodwin said. "We had our second defensive front in, and we just got blocked that play. Then three of the four people in the secondary had a chance to tackle him, and they missed him."

The DHS coach said he was impressed with the athletes on the Greene County team. "There are five or six kids on that team that I’d take," he said.

The game at Greene County again allowed the Tigers to play a lot of people, but "there’s going to come a time when our starters have to play a full game. We may be playing somebody (whose key players) have been playing a full game. I hope that doesn’t come back to bite us."

The 2-1 Greensboro Raiders are a lot like Greene County, Goodwin said. They are big in size and have speed. "They are on a little bit of a roll. They had a bad year last year and lost the first game (to Tuscaloosa County) by a big score, but they’ve won the last two (against Greene County and Bibb County). I imagine their confidence is up."

As the DHS offense experienced against Greene County, he expects the Raiders to blitz a lot on defense Friday night. The Greene County defense got a hold of Tiger quarterback Dusty Goodwin a few times but could not sack him.
