Richard Jackson, 65, of Forkland, died Thursday. November 14, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Services were held Friday, November 22, 2002, at the New Green Oak Baptist Church in Forkland with Rev. Edward King officiating.

Burial was held in the church cemetery under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jackson; four children, Monica (Timothy) Turner, LaShawna Jackson, Rexford Jackson and Travis Jackson, all of Forkland; one brother, Eli Abrams of Houston, Tex.; two grandchildren; one father-in-law, Richard Miles of Detroit, Mich.; one devoted step-father-in-law, Elijah Bryant; two sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Hazel Matthews, of Demopolis, passed recently at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Infant Darrious Banks, of Norfolk, Va., died Friday, November 22, 2002, at Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Va.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Banks, and grandmother, Beverly Banks of Forkland.

Taylor Thomas

(Tommy) Spidle

Gallion

Taylor Thomas (Tommy) Spidle, 56, of Gallion, died Friday, November 22, 2002, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Services were held Monday, November 25, 2002, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Don Smith officiating.

Burial was held in Demopolis Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors.

He was a native of Demopolis and a resident for 56 years. He was a member of the Rangeline Baptist Church and the Bethel Builders Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.T. Spidle.

Mr. Spidle is survived by his wife, Frances O. Spidle of Gallion; two daughters, Gloria (Darrin) Flowers of Deltona, Fla. and Aimee (Bo) Hoggle of Moundville; four sisters, Jo-Anne Walton of Montgomery, Margaret S. (Bernard) Swanly of Birmingham, Christine (Don) Black of Demopolis; two brothers, Wayne Spidle of Demopolis and Julian (Debbie) Spidle of San Antonio, Tex.; five grandchildren, Lori Ann Flowers, Melissa K. Flowers, William Earl Flowers, Taylor Lane Smith and Abigale Patricia Hoggle; 10 nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Roy Cook, Rodney Buroker, Danny Eaves, Don Parsons, Mike Jones, Roger Ratcliff, Branson Willingham and Norma Oglesby.

Cecil D. Carle

Greensboro

Cecil D. Carle, 99, of Greensboro, died Friday, November 22, 2002, at Colonial Nursing Home in Greensboro.

Graveside services were held Monday, November 25, 2002, at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Deramus officiating and under the direction of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home of Linden.

Mr. Carle was born March 7, 1903, in Joplin, Mo. He was a retired machinist.

He is survived by a son, Cecil E. Carle of Demopolis; a sister, Ione Bullard of Bono, Ark.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made his his honor to the Stuttgard Lutheran Church.
