Sentences handed down in court

Guilty pleas were heard, and sentences were imposed Friday morning in Marengo County Circuit Court. Judge Eddie Hardaway Jr. presided.

Mary Collins was sentenced for assault, first degree. She received two years suspended, two years supervised probation and payment of restitution.

Kerry Hildreth pled guilty to criminal trespass, second degree. He was sentenced to 90 days in the county jail. He will receive credit for 30 days served, and the remaining 60 days will be suspended.

Elton Johnson was sentenced for domestic violence II. He received 10 years.

He also pled guilty Friday to possession of a controlled substance and received two years and a $1,000 fine. This sentence will run concurrent with the 10-year sentence.

Mr. Ross pled guilty to receiving stolen property, second degree. He was sentenced to two years. One year will run concurrent with a sentence he is serving in the Wilcox County Jail, and he will receive five years probation. Ross earned credit for time served and must pay restitution.

Ronald Smith was sentenced for trafficking in cocaine. He received 10 years and a $50,000 fine.

Wesley Travis was sentenced for discharging a gun in an occupied building. He received five years.
