Floyd Wilson was selected January 21 as the new director of Marengo County E-911 during the agency’s monthly board meeting in the Marengo County Courthouse in Linden.

He is a former dispatch supervisor and training coordinator with Houston County and currently serves as a dispatch manager in Butler County. He has worked in the dispatching service since 1986.

He has had some experience with type of computer aided dispatcher system the county E-911 is planning to upgrade to in the near future, McKinney said.

Wilson is a native of Demopolis.

The vote of the E-911 board was unanimous for Wilson’s selection, and he is expected to begin work during the middle of February.
