Marengo County Circuit Judge Eddie Hardaway Jr. finally sentenced a convicted robber in a case that spans back nearly two-and-a-half years.

Gary Williams was sentenced to 20 years last week for robbery, first degree, in the 2000 Outback Motel robbery.

The robbery occurred Dec. 8, 2000, when Williams and two other suspects were arrested.

In the robbery, two masked assailants, including Williams, entered the hotel and robbed the clerk at gunpoint of an undisclosed amount of money.

In other sentences:

Sherri R. Anderson was sentenced one year-and- a day for forgery, second degree. Restitution was $192.

She was also sentenced three years for felony DUI. The sentence was split to serve 200 days with the balance as two years supervised probation. There is a $4,100 fine with court costs.

The theft of property, first degree, case against Anderson was dismissed.

Donald Bishop was sentenced to one year in county jail for assault, third degree. The sentence was suspended to one year unsupervised probation.

Marcus Finch was sentenced to 15 years for robbery, first degree. He must pay a third of $28,241.41 in restitution.

Finch was also sentenced to 10 years for assault, first degree. The sentences will run concurrent.

Tony Gary was sentenced to one year in the county jail for assault, third degree. The sentence was suspended to one year supervised probation.

Becky Jones was sentenced to four years for possession and receiving a controlled substance. She must also complete a substance abuse program.

Maurice Knight was sentenced to 12 months in county jail for possession of marijuana II. The sentence was suspended to one year supervised probation.

Travis Lawson was sentenced to 12 months in the county jail for possession of marijuana, second degree. The sentence was suspended to one year supervised probation.

Two other cases against Lawson, improper tag and no proof of insurance, were dismissed.

Probation was revoked for Leonard N. Maldonado who was sentenced September 30, 2002 for unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle. He received one year-and-a day, suspended to one year-and-a day unsuperrvised probation.

Joseph Matthews was sentenced to 10 years for arson, second degree. The sentence was split to one year-and-a day and credit for time served.

Clarence Mitchell was sentenced to one year-and-a day for felony DUI. The sentence will be split to serve 90 days with a fine of $4,100 and court costs.

An assault, second degree, case against Michael Neal was dismissed.

Jermaine Scott was sentenced to two years for possession of marijuana, first degree. The sentence was suspended to two years supervised probation.

Two other cases against Scott, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana, first degree, were dismissed.

A case against William Smith, driving with suspended license, was dismissed.

Daryl Taylor was sentenced to two years for possessing and receiving a controlled substance. There is a $1,000 fine and court costs.

Taylor was also sentenced to three years for criminal mischief, first degree. He will get credit for time served. There is $2,500 restitution and court costs.

The sentences will run concurrent.

Cases against Taylor, possession of marijuana, second degree, and possession and receiving a controlled substance, were dismissed.

Melvin Tensley was sentenced to four years for possessing and receiving a controlled substance. There was a $1,000 fine and court costs.

Timothy Tucker was sentenced to 10 years for rape, first degree.

Eric Walker was sentenced to 12 months in county jail for theft of property, third degree. Credit was given for time served.
