Christine Hall Parten, 73, of Marion, died Saturday, November 8, 2003, at Southland Nursing Home.

Services were held Monday, November 10, 2003, at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden with Rev. Don Newton officiating.

Burial was held in the Octagon Cemetery under the direction of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.

She was born July 24, 1930 in Marengo County. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Linden.

Ms. Parten is survived by three daughters, Betty Abbott of Baltimore, MD, Joyce Busby of Mobile and Daisy James of Dixons Mills; a sister, Gladys Hall of Selma; a brother, Clyde Hall of Octagon; two granddaughters, Paula Johnson of Baltimore and Erin James of Dixons Mills; two grandsons, Ben Busby and Harold Busby, both from Mobile; nine step-children, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers were Winston Schroeder, Duke Schroeder, Darrell Schroeder, Harold Busby, Wade Johnson, Gene Hall and Ben Busby (alternate).
