LIVINGSTON &045; Santa Claus is coming early to the residents of Livingston thanks to Mayor Tartt and the City Council. The city of Livingston is getting ready for the leftovers, i.e. the tons of trash that will be generated during the Christmas holidays from wrapping paper, boxes, and various other items.

This year the city of Livingston will setup a sway car besides all the regular dumpsters for the residents to throw their Christmas trash in. The sway car will be on the corner of Washington Street by the courthouse from December 25&26.

The sway car will be monitored so if it fills up there will be someone to replace it with another car. "If you see the car filled with trash, please don’t leave your trash and just try again later," Tartt said.

The city plans for this to be a big hit with the residents whose houses will be filled with wrapping paper and left over boxes. But, what the city doesn’t want is for residents to bring their Christmas Trees to the car.

The idea for having this service came from the fact that regular household trash pick up will not be running on December 25 and 26.

Also, there will be a limited trash pickup for businesses on December 24 and 25

"I would to ask for the cooperation of the public during this holiday season and to wish the residents of Livingston a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year," Tartt said.
