Police arrest man for rape of relatives

A man living in Linden has been arrested and charged with the rape of two female victims under the age of 12. Both victims are apparently relatives of the suspect.

Pedro Munoz, 34, of 304 Selma Ave., was arrested Monday afternoon and charged with two counts of rape first degree. Both charges are felonies.

Munoz, a native of Mexico, was at work when Sgt. McClure and Officer Wesley Vice made the arrest. Munoz did not show any signs of resistance and was said to have walked out calmly.

According to reports, The Department of Human Resources was investigating the case prior to handing it over to the Linden Police department. The investigation was in process for about a month.

He conducted the investigation after meeting with the Department of Human Resources. Due to confidentiality, no one was available for comment.

However, Sgt. McClure confirmed that the suspect was charged with "using force to engage in sexual intercourse with a minor under age 12."

The victims involved are said to be under-aged female relatives, who lived with the suspect.

Bail had not been set for Munoz as of press time.
