Julia S. McDuff

Julia S. McDuff, 98, of Eutaw, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at the Greene County Nursing Home in Eutaw.

Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Mesopotamia Cemetery with Rev. Roy Sanford officiating and under the direction of Kidd- Robbins Funeral Directors.

Mrs. McDuff was a native of Akron and a resident of Eutaw for many years. She was a member of Eutaw Baptist Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion and the Leisure Club of Eutaw.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Earl McDuff; a daughter, Marjoree McDuff Levert; and a grandson, Frankie McDuff.

She is survived by a son, Richard Earl (Tonie) McDuff Jr. of Eutaw; a brother, Buddy Sims of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her honor to the Greene County Ambulance Service in Eutaw.

Ruby Lee Hunt Carter

Greensboro

Ruby Lee Hunt Carter, 80, of Greensboro, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at Hale County Hospital.

Graveside services were held Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Oakwood Cemetery in Greensboro with Rev. Dee McGuire officiating and under the direction of Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Matilda Melton Hunt; husband, Cletus Carter; four sisters, Jewel Lennox, Jenny Greenway, Bessie Thompson, and Grace Greenway; four brothers, Rosco Hunt, Deward Hunt, Roosevelt Hunt and Bill Hunt.

She is survived by daughters, Deborah (David) Rudhart and Beverly (Tommy) Pate, both of Greensboro; a son, Tony (Judy) Carter of Greensboro; three sisters, Virginia Hunt of Jackson, Tenn., Elma Gant of Dresden, Tenn. and Lucille Pittman of Clinton, Ky.; a brother, Robert (Martha) Hunt of Jackson, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Laquitta (David) Faulkner, Keneethia Pate, Christie (Mikey) Holcombe, Melissa Carter, Monica Rudhart, Adella Pate, and Carrie Carter; four great-grandchildren, Dave Cole, Dusty Johnson, Baylee Pate and Keith Holcombe; five step-children, Eugene (Kay) Carter, Louise (Paul) Wiggins, Wilma (Jim) Spicer, Carrie (Frank) Carter and Gay Nell Boyd; and numerous nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were David Rudhart, Tommy Pate, David Faulkner, Wayne Cole, D.J. Faulkner and Billy Drake.

Honorary pallbearers were Belinda Stewart, Elizabeth Rudhart, staff of the Critical Care Unit, Virginia Hunt, staff of Hale County Home Health, Wynell and staff of Hale County Hospital Clinic, Dr. Alomari, Dr. Moore.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in her honor be made to the Greensboro Baptist Church Family Life Center, 908 Main Street, Greensboro, AL 36744 or the American Cancer Society.

Vera Vick Dickson

Linden

Vera Vick Dickson, 88, of Linden, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

Services were held Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden with Rev. Jim Meadows officiating.

Burial was held in New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma under the direction of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dickson was born Dec. 21, 1914 in Coy, Ala. She was a member of the Linden United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Dickson.

Mrs. Dickson is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hall of Linden and Donna Sue (Charles) Dukes of Josephine, Ala.; a son, Aubrey Donald (Willie Mae) Dickson of Gallion; two brothers, Willard Vick of Selma and Walter Vick of Selma; and three sisters, Ira Dell Brown and Ethel Friday, both of Linden, and Lillian Clibrey of Selma; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jeffrey Smedley, Charles Dukes Jr., Hayne Dukes, Donald Dickson, Chris Carlisle, Billy Carlisle, Mike Carlisle and Rodney Golson.

Delta Lauretta Caraway

Thomaston

Delta Lauretta Caraway, 94, of Thomaston, died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2003, at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital.

Services were held Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home in Linden with Rev. Harold Bordages officiating.

Burial was held in the Thomaston Cemetery under the direction of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.

She was born Aug. 28, 1909 in Deep Well, West Virginia. She was a member of the Thomaston United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Caraway; and a son, Bill Caraway.

She is survived by a daughter, Edith Lowery of Thomaston; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were George Knight, J.D. Clardy, Buddy York, Cliff Mitchell, Ken Caraway and Daryl Lawrence.

Frances Louise Wilkinson

Linden

Frances Louise Wilkinson, 79, of Linden, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003, in a two-car accident at Highway 25 and old Highway 80 in Faunsdale.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Allen officiating.

Burial will be held in Thomaston Cemetery under the direction of Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors.

She was a native of Thomaston and a resident of Linden for many years. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Amorite Wilkinson; and a son, Leland Burge.

Mrs. Wilkinson is survived by five daughters, Mary Louise (Clayton) Egbert of Selma, Jessie (Clarence) Egbert of York, Lany Jeanette (Melvin) McPherson of Gallion, Nancy (Terry) Kearley of Livingston, and Jean (David) Diamond of Linden; six sons, Willie (Daisy) Wilkinson of Linden, Paul (Jayne) Wilkinson of Demopolis, Moses (Wanda) Wilkinson of Linden, Joe (Audrey) Wilkinson of Uniontown, Ben (Sandra) Wilkinson of Gallion and Curtis (Pam) Wilkinson of Providence; two sisters, Helen Sheffield of Thomaston and Betty (Buck) Duke of Linden; a brother, Lamar Godwin of Tacoma, Wash.; 33 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Stan Wilkinson, Chad Wilkinson, Lonnie Stone, Travis Wilkinson, Joey Wilkinson and Brian Wilkinson.
