Elizabeth Powell Garris, 91, of Greensboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004, at Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Greensboro United Methodist Church with Rev. Stephen Smith and Rev. Glen Smith officiating.

Burial will be held in St. Andrews Cemetery in Gallion under the direction of Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ralph Garris; and daughter, Dixie Dial.

Mrs. Garris is survived by a daughter, Betty Garris (Glen) Smith of Jackson, Ala.; a son, John Drury (Fran) Garris of Greensboro; a son-in-law, Buck Dial of Sumterville, Ala.; sisters, Peggy Cantrell of Huntsville and Alline Garris of Leroy, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Garris, Ralph Garris, Will Dial, Nelson Smith, Daniel Smith and Stephen Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to the Methodist Childrens Home in Selma.
