Greensboro falls to Hillcrest, 79-71

The Greensboro Raiders fell to the Hillcrest Patriots on Tuesday night 79-71. This match up was tooth and nail all night with both teams holding the lead at the end of different quarters.

The Raiders were down 19-22 at the end of the first quarter. D.J. White scored early and often in the quarter helping the Patriots take the lead. The Raiders stormed back to take a 38-36 lead going into halftime. The shooting of Bobby Hooks, who was lights out from the floor and the strong rebounding and the overall team speed of the Raiders, were keys to their halftime lead.

By the time the third quarter ended, the Patriots had reclaimed the lead 55-49. The Patriots carried this lead into the fourth quarter and eventually won by eight points. The keys for the Patriots win were their strong outside shooting and their team defense. Both Jaworski Sewell and Bobby Hooks who each scored 25 points led the Raiders, while Dardrick Williams chipped in 12 points.

The Patriots were led to victory thanks to both D. J. White and Bill Reese who scored 22 points each. White also contributed on the glass with 13 rebounds and five blocked shots. Aldarion Tidmore also added 10 points to the victory.
