Greensboro High School junior Matt Busbee will have the honor of playing baseball at the next level come next year. Thursday morning Busbee signed a national letter of intent to play baseball with the Central Alabama Community College Trojans.

Trojans head coach Don Ingram has had his eye on Busbee for some time now and knows he has what it takes to play at the college level.

“Matt is the total package. He is a fine young man with a great character and a tremendous athlete,” Ingram said.

In his junior year, Busby had a .616 batting average with 7 homeruns, 42 RBI’s and 34 stolen bases and helped carry the Raiders to a 17-7 overall record. He has a 3.1 GPA and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.55 seconds.

And although he has spent a great deal of time behind the plate for the Raiders, coach Ingram knows that the youngster will have no problems making the transition to the outfield where he will start come next season.

“Matt is a baseball player, he can play anywhere on the field. We signed a good one today,” Ingram said.
