Jesse Edward Luker, 93, of Demopolis, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at the Kidd-Robbins Chapel with Rev. Don Smith and Rev. Tony Cannon officiating.

The body will lie in state Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m.

Burial will be held at Demopolis Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rubye Luker; parents, Cleveland and Clara Luker; sisters, Alma Barney, Ethel Etheredge and Ann Smith; and two brothers, Jack Luker and Grover Luker.

Mr. Luker is survived by four daughters, Janiece (Al) Hill of Demopolis, Faye (Dick) Porter of Gallio, Patsy (Sammy) Coats of Gallion and Pam (Keith) Durham of Demopolis; three sons, Harold (Peggy) Luker and Kerry (Joyce) Luker, both of Demopolis, and Jimbo (Suzanne) Luker of Pinson; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Robbie Wilkerson, David Coats, Edward Luker, Richard Porter, Darryl Luker and Tony Luker.

Honorary pallbearers will employees of Comfort Care Hospice and Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home, Dede Ward, Nadine Coddington, Diane Peabody, Nodie Rorie, Rhonda Lloyd, Shanna Coats, Lakisha Edwards, Brenda Hirtus, Christine Rembert, Angela Rowley and Yvonne Jones.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his honor to Comfort Care Hospice, Demopolis.
