Mamie Rainey

Mrs. Mamie Rainey, 92, of Greensboro, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at St. Matthew AME Church in Greensboro with Rev. Erroll Brantley Sr. officiating.

The body will lie in state Saturday from noon to 1 p.m.

Burial will be held at Sarah Christian Cemetery under the direction of Washington Paige and Rollins Mortuary.

Dora Banks

Greensboro

Mrs. Dora Banks, 60, of Greensboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Greensboro with Bro. Frank Adams officiating.

There will be visitation Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Washington and Paige Mortuary.

The body will lie in state Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Burial will be held in the Greensboro City Cemetery under the direction of Washington Paige and Rollins Mortuary.

Hubert C. Parris

Tuscaloosa

Hubert C. Parris, 82, of Tuscaloosa, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004, at DCH Regional Medical Center.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at the Kidd-Robbins Chapel with Rev. Denton Goodwin officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at the Kidd-Robbins Chapel.

Burial will be held in Walker Memory Gardens in Jasper under the direction of Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors.

He was a member of First Baptist Church and was retired from Alabama Power Co.

Mr. Parris is survived by his wife, Willodean (Billse) D. Parris of Tuscaloosa; a daughter, Sara Beth Hallman of Tuscaloosa; a son, Hubert Davis Parris of Mobile; a sister, Sara Jones of Birmingham; two brothers, Ovis (Judy) Parris of Cullman and Herrin (Dolly) Mo Parris of Douglasville, Ga.; grandchildren, Sara Michell (Danny) Eaton and Karen Frances Hallman, both of Tuscaloosa, and John Patrick Parris and Matthew Clayton Parris, both of Mobile.

Pallbearers will be Gene Davis, Kelly Ethridge, Cotton Eddins, OscarMcLamb, David Freeman and Bo McAlpine.

Honorary pallbearers will be O.O. Hill, Walter Wilson, Sam McCollam, Tim Compton, James Brasswell, Jimmy Lee, Dr. Reese Holifield, Dr. Thomas McDermott, nurses at 2 Southeast DCH and all friends and neighbors from Demopolis and Tuscaloosa.
