Richard Charles Boone, 36, is the third suspect from Forkland to be arrested in the recent theft and sale of Goodyear tires stolen from Ross Neely Systems of Gadsden.

He was charged with receiving stolen property I.

The tires were illegally sold in the Demopolis area and Greene County.

Silas Hubbard, 28, of Forkland, arrested Feb. 4 for receiving stolen property, first degree, and criminal conspiracy, was released Feb. 9 on $14,000 bond. William Gulley, 42, also of Forkland, arrested for receiving stolen property, first degree, and criminal conspiracy, was also released on $14,000 bond.

Greene County Sheriff Johnny Isaac said Gulley is believed to have contacted Hubbard to help him remove tires from a stockpile at Gulley’s residence.

A Ross Neely truck was driven to Greene County on Jan. 23. The stolen goods were transferred to another trailer. A Ross Neely driver was taken into custody in Gadsden, Isaac said.

The Ross Neely trailer was later discovered in Knoxville in Greene County by the volunteer fire department when a call came through that a trailer was on fire.

Before it was set a blaze the contents of the trailer, over 1,000 brand new Goodyear tires, were gone. The tires were moved to another trailer, discovered in Demopolis in woods off Highway 80 West.

Demopolis Police confiscated nearly 400 Goodyear tires. The high-value tires were sold for $25 each.

Greene County officials have recovered 41 tires so far, and Isaac said an amnesty period continues for people who purchased the stolen tires to return them with no penalty.

If the tires are not returned soon, Issac said law enforcement will pursue those who purchased the tires.
