Charles S. Foreman Sr.

Demopolis

Charles S. Foreman, 86, of Demopolis, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Bryan W. Whitfield Hospital.

Services were held Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Gallion with Rev. Farnsworth Coelman officiating.

Burial was held with full military honors at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Demopolis under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors in Demopolis.

Mr. Foreman was a former mayor pro-tem of the Demopolis City Council.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Foreman of Demopolis; four children, Elijah (Shirley) Beard of Riverside, Ca., Charles (Marilyn) Foreman Jr. of Smyrna, Ga., Doris Foreman of Paramount, Ca. and Andrea Dianne Foreman of Harvey, La; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Brister Waiters

Coatopa

Brister Waiters, 101, of Coatopa, died recently in Coatopa.

Services were held Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Bethel Pine Baptist Church in Coatopa with Rev. Floyd Bell officiating and Mrs. Daisy Carter Mistress of Order.

Burial was held in the Old St. Michael Cemetery in Coatopa under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.

He is survived by his wife, Prudie Waiters of Coatopa; 12 grandchildren; devoted nieces and nephews, Estella Hill, Simmie L. McCoy, Levester and George Brown, Emma Taylor and Patricia Taylor of Coatopa; sisters-in-law, Callie Simmons of Scott, Arkansas and Dessie Williford of Demopolis; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sam Sanders

Demopolis

Sam Sanders, 80, of Demopolis, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2004, at Colonial Healthcare in Greensboro.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2004, at the Larkin and Scott Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ralph Hunter officiating and Rev. John Watkins as Master of Order.

Burial was held in Memorial Cemetery in Demopolis under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.

Mr. Sanders is survived by a son, Archie (Eliza) Sanders of Mobile; two cousins, Al Brown of Chicago, Ill. and Bernice Jackson of Providence, R.I.; two devoted friends, Alberta Lewis and Dorothy Conner of Demopolis; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Johnny Lucy Jr.

Dixons Mills

Bro. Johnny Lucy Jr. “Jr. Boy”, 59, of Dixons Mills, died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2004, at Mobile Infirmary Hospital in Mobile.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at El Shaddal AOH Church of God in Dixons Mills with Elder Gregory Lucy officiating and Missionary Merelyn Grayson as the Mistress of Order.

Burial was held in the Polly Robinson Cemetery in Dixons Mills under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Lucy of Dixons Mills; one daughter, Shanessa (Demetrius) Lucy of Cantonment, Fla.; one step-son, Willie (Zandra Lockett) Allen of Dixons Mills; four step-daughters, Brenda Allen of Dixons Mills, Angela Allen of Mobile, Lisa (Jeff) Stanton, Cantonment, Fla. and Tangela (Jesse) Hall of Dixons Mills; mother, Alma D. Lucy of Dixons Mills; seven brothers, James (Betty) Lucy of Mobile, Ossie Lucy of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Curtis Lucy of Tuscaloosa, and Aubrey Lucy Sr., Perry Lucy, Elder Gregory (Phyllis) Lucy and Dennis Lucy, all of Dixons Mills; three sisters, Gwendolyn Lucy of Mobile, Catherine Lucy of Dixons Mills and Vanessa Dixon of Columbus, Ga.; two aunts, one devoted, Rev. Sis. Jannie P. Lucy of Magnolia and Queen Esther locket of Mobile; three sisters-in-law; two grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; one devoted cousin, Johnny Earl Allen of Dixons Mills; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mary Lomax-Mullen

Demopolis

Mrs. Mary Lomax-Mullen, 94, of Demopolis, died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mounty Holly, N.J.

Services were held Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at Evening Star Baptist Church in Gallion with Rev. Floyd James officiating.

Burial was held in the Evening Star Cemetery under the direction of Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors.

She is survived by seven children, Sam (Anna) Mullen of Cleveland, Ohio, Fleming (Nanette) Mullen of Springfield Gardens, N.Y., Herbert (Edna) Mullen of Rosedale, N.Y., Mary (Garland) Hairston of Cleveland, Ohio, Jerome (Delores) Mullen of Rosedale, N.Y., Mabel Mullen of Easthampton, N.J., and Willie (Betty) Mullen of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; one step-daughter, Minnie Scott of Demopolis; one step-son, Jake Mullen of Cleveland, Ohio; 26 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Rev. William M. Norwood

St. Louis, Mo.

Rev. William M. Norwood, of St. Louis, Mo., died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004, at his residence.

He is the beloved father of William M. Norwood Jr. (Jean) of Gallion.
