LIVINGSTON – Spring drills for the 2004 edition of West Alabama football opened on Monday after being delayed five days due to the large amounts of rain received in Livingston last week. Sixty-eight players were in uniform, much to the delight of Head Coach Sam McCorkle.

“I was very pleased with our numbers and our enthusiasm,” commented McCorkle. “It felt like the first day and we were trying to teach a lot of new things. These first few days will seem a little slower because we are learning, but our effort has been top notch.”

The Tigers will continue practice on Tuesday before taking the field for the first time in full pads on Wednesday.
