CLANTON – The Lady Tigers recently returned to action against the Tigers of Chilton County and continued their winning ways with a 6-0 defeat of the home team.

Demopolis (5-1) scored one run in the first inning and never looked back.

Brittany McGee doubled and then scored on a double by Lauren Roark to begin the quest for victory.

Kelly Keasler (2-0) limited Chilton County to three hits while walking one batter and striking out nine in her return to the mound after a knee injury.

The offense continued to tack on runs as the innings mounted.

McGee singled in the third inning and would move around the bases on balls hit by Roark and Katie Simmons.

She would cross home plate on a single by Brittany Thorne.

The offense would add three more runs in the 4th inning.

The rally started when Kristin Etheridge reached on an error.

After a ground out by Heather Wright, Kelly Keasler would reach on an error.

A double by McGee then scored the two Tiger base runners.

McGee would score when a Chilton County outfielder dropped a fly ball hit by Roark.

With a 5-0 lead, Demopolis looked assured to earn its next win.

The final run of the game came after a 1-2 pitch to first baseman Katie Simmons, who promptly deposited the ball over the centerfield fence to make the final margin of victory 6-0.
