NORTHPORT – The Demopolis Lady Tigers dropped to 6-5 on the season with a one run loss at Tuscaloosa County this week. In a pitcher’s duel that saw Lauren Roark give up a two out triple in the bottom of the 5th inning for the only Lady Wildcat hit, Demopolis fell to Tuscaloosa County 1-0.

The Lady Tigers had several opportunities in the game to score but were unable. Tuscaloosa County scored after the triple on a wild pitch by Roark (3-3). She also walked one batter and struck out eight in the loss. Demopolis tried for its own heroics in the 7th inning when Heather Wright hit a two out triple but the Lady Wildcats snuffed out the threat to seal the victory.

Demopolis returns home on March 29th to face area foe Greensboro. The JV will play at 3:30 p.m. and the Varsity immediately after. The Lady Tigers will also be home against Hale County on March 30.
