Demopolis High School senior Katie Simmons recently signed a national letter of intent to play softball at Jefferson Davis Community College in Brewton, AL. Simmons, has been a four year starter for the DHS Lady Tigers. Simmons set herself a part from all others last season when she broke three school records. Those records included: Most RBIs in a season with 51, Most home runs in a season with 6 and best slugging percentage with a .773. Last season Simmons was also a member of the Birmingham News Super All-State Team. With her signing, Simmons becomes the second member of last year’s DHS Lady Tigers state championship team to do so
