The winning just doesn’t seem to ever want to stop for the 27-9 Demopolis High Lady Tigers as they continued their winning streak Friday adding on two more wins to their previous nine for a grand total of 11 straight.

The Lady Tigers, led by pitcher Lauren Roark, captured their tenth consecutive win against the Greensboro Lady Raiders 11-0 in game on e of the Area 8 Tournament.

Roark pitched a complete game six innings giving up no runs on one hit, while collecting 7K’s.

The Lady Tigers came out swinging against the lady raiders and easily dominated the game early. Leading the way for the lady tigers was Roark, who went 4-for-4 with two singles, two doubles and 1RBI. Junior Kristen Etheridge followed going 3-for-3 with three singles and 2RBIs.

Senior India Chancelor also added in a run as she went 1-for-3 with 1RBI. Timie Lee went 2-for-3 with 1RBI, while Hunter Lewis went 1-for-3 with 1RBI.

But the game they will all remember will be the one in which the Lady Tigers beat the Lady Hornets of Dallas County 1-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning, and they did it without even collecting a single hit.

It was another pitchers duel for the Lady tigers and the Lady Hornets, but this time around it would errors that made the difference. Hornets’ pitcher Mallory Miller went eight innings collecting 9K’s, while giving up one run on two hits with two walks. But after going seven long innings without giving up a single run, the Lady Hornets defense fell asleep and allowed the Tigers to earn the wining run without earning a single hit in the inning.

The Lady Tigers will now face the Lady Hornets, who took care of the Lady Raiders in game three Friday, again today at noon to wrap up the tournament.
