Times they are a changing’… literally

To better serve the growing demand of the Internet culture today, the Demopolis Times official website (www.demopolistimes.com) has gone through a complete makeover and is now live and ready to serve the people of West Alabama. This website is more user-friendly and with easier accessibility to get the news and up to date information that everyone craves in today’s society.

Some of the improvements or minor ones, but some our very noticeable as soon as the site even loads on the screen. First, there is a completely new feel to the site with an easier and user-friendlier selection menu placed along the very top of the screen.

Email newsletter signup

Each one of the links takes a user to the specified location such as News, goes to the local news of the day and the last two weeks, Sports, goes to all the up to date sports action in the coverage area and so on.

The old favorites are there also with the Opinion link, which takes users to a selection screen with the photos of the columnists, pick the face of the columnist and start reading. A new section has been added to the site, Public Records, this will give users access all the police reports, marriages, and so on.

Another new section is the county links under the main flag of the newspaper. These county names are in blue and when users click on one of the names, it takes the users to a screen of just the stories that happen in that county only. If users want to know what is going on in just Marengo County, click on Marengo to find out.

The most dominant photo on the screen represents the “Top Story”, if users click on the text above the photo, the users will get today’s top story. Also if users want to get into contact with someone at the Demopolis Times its as easy as 1,2,3.

First click on the button called Contact Us, then secondly scroll down and find the person needed, finally click on the email address and send an email or just call the phone number right next to the photo.

With all these new additions to the website, the Demopolis Times will continue to be the leading source of news in West Alabama.
