(Lakeland, FL) – The Tigers have promoted catcher Russ Cleveland to Erie to replace Brandon Harper, while Harper was promoted to replace the injured Guillermo Rodriguez at Triple ‘A’ Toledo.

Cleveland was hitting .257 with six runs scored and four RBI in Lakeland.

Cleveland was a 12th round pick in the June 1998 draft.

Justin Barnes joins Lakeland from just across the road at extended spring training.

Last year he hit .239 in 31 games at Oneonta of the New York-Penn League.

Barnes was the Tigers 32nd round pick of the June 2003 draft out of the University of Alabama-Huntsville.
