Funeral services will be Saturday, May 22, 2004 at 12:00 noon at St. Mary AME Church in Greensboro, AL. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Cemetery in Greensboro, AL. The body will lie in state in the church one hour prior to the service. The Rev J.C. Carter will officiate with the Rev. Paul Sanders being the pastor. Arrangements are entrusted to Washington and Paige Mortuary in Greensboro.

Mrs. Ruth Annette Smyly Kirkham, 80, Linden, AL died Tuesday, May 18, 2004 at Bryan Whitfield Hospital in Demopolis, AL. Funeral services were Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the Magnolia Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. President James Martin officiated. Interment followed in Magnolia Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Cemetery. She was a member of the Demopolis Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Kirkham is survived by two sons, Billy Lorenzo Criswell, Fulton, AL and James Roger Sheffield, Pine Hill, AL; three daughters, Linda Annette Etheridge, Selma, AL, Mary Lee Taylor, Roanoke, AL , and Jane Elizabeth Britt, Denham Springs, LA; two brothers, Martin Smyly, Satsuma, AL, and Wilford Smyly, Pine Hill, AL; and one sister, Eloise Harbin, Magnolia, AL. Pallbearers include: Lynn Criswell, Johnny Criswell, Nathan Britt, Joshua Britt, Mike Harbin, Larry Etheridge, and alternate Joe Stockman.
