Westside Honors

Westside Elementary in Demopolis receives National Recognition Reading Renaissance announced that Westside Elementary School in Demopolis, Alabama has been cited for outstanding performance in reading education. Westside is one of four schools in the state of Alabama to receive this award.

Westside Elementary has been awarded the “Reading Renaissance Master School” Award.

The Master School Award indicates that Westside Elementary School’s efforts to adopt Reading Renaissance methods school-wide have continued to result in measurable increases in student reading performance.

To receive Reading Renaissance Master School Award the school must demonstrate that their students receive a minimum of sixty minutes of reading practice time daily. In addition, the teachers must be actively working with individual students to meet Renaissance-recommended standards for reading achievements.
