Fisher brings her strong educational background and her goals for the children of Linden with her to this new job.

Fisher, who is originally from Tuscaloosa, but later moved to Greensboro, received her B.S. in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama. She also received her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education as well as her Administration Certification from UA.

“I would like to thank the Linden City School Board for having faith in me and my abilities,” Fisher said.

She said some of the teaching positions she has held during her educational career have been, teaching Kindergarten and fifth grade. During the summer school program at Woodlawn Middle School in Tuscaloosa, she gained her first taste of being a principal, and she liked it.

“I really enjoyed my time of teaching the children of Tuscaloosa County, but I’m looking forward to this new challenge,” Gosa said.

She said the first official day of her new position would be on July 1, 2004. She also said the expectations that have been placed on the school this year are very high.

“I hope we can work together with the parents as a community and give these children a caring environment, where they can learn to grow into model citizens,” Fisher said.

The parents of Linden can be assured that their children will get the kind of education that will prepare them for the 21st century, she said. The staff at the school is fantastic and with zero holes to fill in the staff, they’re ready to go.

“The staff is so excited and energetic,” Fisher said, “They are doing a lot of professional development courses over the summer.”

There will be a community meet and greet that will be scheduled before the start of school, so all the parents can come out and have a look at the changes to the school.
