EUTAW – A group of more than 75 concerned parents attended a meeting Tuesday night at Warrior Academy to listen to proposed plans for the up and coming 2004-2005 school year for the 39-year old private institution in Eutaw.

According to headmaster Jimmy Barlow, there are plenty of things to be positive about at Warrior.

“Things are really very positive around here right now,” Barlow said. “Our enrollment continues to grow. We believe we have found a new headmaster at Warrior Academy. And we have also officially replaced all but one of our board members who resigned their positions just a few weeks ago.”

Barlow said that Warrior’s board now consists of four new members, which include: Mark Odom, Robbie Langham, Ronnie Heath and Bennie Abrams.

Barlow confirmed Tuesday that the school does still plan to continue as a K-12 institution, and as of this time will fill a varsity boy’s and girl’s basketball team, along with a varsity baseball team this coming season.

Barlow also stated that Warrior Academy would have representation at today’s AISA hardship appeal in Montgomery concerning three of its 2003 student-athletes.
