DEMOPOLIS-A candidate from the Demopolis City Council District 3 race Lester Mitchell has dropped out of the up and coming election due to personal reasons.

Mitchell said that due to family issues, he would be dropping out of the race.

“If I can’t put 100 percent into running for the position and then doing the work that the position calls for then I’m not running at all,” Mitchell said.

Without Lester in the race, the only two candidates left in the election are John Wallace and Melvin Yelverton. The current city councilman Ronnie O’Neal decided not to pursue the city council again, so that is why he isn’t running in this race as well.
