LIVINGSTON – With summer camp getting into full swing, the University of West Alabama football team took the practice field for the first time in full pads on Wednesday afternoon. Head Coach Sam McCorkle stated that the offensive line stood out in the 3-on-3 drills.

McCorkle said the starters on the offensive line had a good practice including: Jon Cooper (SR, 6-4, 281), Erik Lee (SR, 6-0, 251), Carlos Montgomery (SR, 6-2, 322), Eddie McCrory (SR, 6-7, 284) and Lee Turner (SR, 6-3, 260).

“It was a typical first day of full pads with some guys getting excited early, but some guys got tired and started losing focus,” McCorkle said. “With such a short time until the start of the season, we need to go hard on every play.”

The Tigers will continue practice on Thursday with their first three-a-day practice. Following one practice on Friday and a three-a-day scheduled for Saturday, West Alabama will take the field for its first big scrimmage of the summer on Sunday scheduled for 2:45 p.m.
