Staff Report

During the Labor Day weekend, Livingston police department worked traffic overtime on a grant provided by ADECA. Officers issued 17 traffic citations, made one misdemeanor arrest, and issued 48 warnings for various traffic offenses. There were no DUI arrests made.

The following arrests were made by the Livingston Police Department:

August 03

Matthew L. Chambless, 19, of Livingston was arrested and charged with DUI. He was arrested after the 1994 Toyota pick-up he was driving was involved in a one-vehicle accident. Chambless refused medical treatment and was taken to the Sumter County jail.

August 05

Kenny Young, 30, of Livingston was arrested and charged with third-degree domestic violence. Young was arrested after he was involved in an altercation with his wife. He was taken to the Sumter County jail.

August 31

A resident in the 100 block of Tin Cup Alley reported that while she was home someone came to the front door and knocked. She refused to answer the door so the suspects went to a back window and attempted to enter the home. When the resident went to the back window, the suspects left the area. There are two juvenile suspects and the case is under investigation.

September 6

A resident in a local apartment complex reported that while she as sitting inside her apartment she heard someone attempt to open her front door. When she walked to the door, the suspects ran off. Case is under investigation.
