Tide Simulates Crowd Noise

The University of Alabama football team stepped up its preparation for the Arkansas Razorbacks today pumping in crowd noise from various speakers around the practice field.

“It was good with the crowd noise, we needed it,” said head coach Mike Shula.

“Practice was different once the noise came out, but it was a good reaction.

It was better than I thought it would be.

We’ll get it again tomorrow.”

Shula said has been pleased with the Tide’s level of effort in preparation this week for its road trip of the season.

“Overall we’ve had two good days of practice but it’s important to have a good day tomorrow,” he added.

The Tide will have one final practice on Thursday before flying out on Friday to Fayetteville where the team will have a walk through at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

The game will be nationally televised on CBS Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m.

Alabama Quick Notes

The Arkansas game will mark the third straight year that Alabama has played its first SEC road game with a first-time starter at quarterback.

The game features the top two scorers in the SEC in Arkansas junior kicker Chris Balseiro (9.0 ppg) and Alabama senior kicker Brian Bostick (8.7 ppg).

The two have combined to make 39 of 40 kicks this season.

Alabama is 3-0 for the 52nd time in school history, but the first time since 1996.

Alabama has not won four games in the month of September since 1994.

A win over Arkansas would give Alabama its 37th 4-0 start in school history.

Alabama leads the SEC in rushing offense (241.0), rushing defense (73.0), total defense (216.3), turnover margin (+5), KO returns (36.5) and time of possession (35:02).
