A.L. Johnson tags Linden with a loss

The A.L. Johnson Eagles knocked off the Linden Patriots last night, 12-8, in a very close battle in Class 1A.
With 5:12 remaining in the first quarter, Linden’s Marion Richardson rushed in five yards for a quick 6-0 Patriots lead.
After a successful two-point conversion, the Patriots lead stood at 8-0.
Just moments later, with 4:39 left in the first quarter, Antjuan Coats took the ball 57-yards for a touchdown run.
After failing on the two-point conversion, the score was 8-6.
And the score remained close until there was only 0:35 left in the third quarter.
At that point, James Robinson rushed in 15 yards for the go-ahead touchdown and a 12-8 Eagles lead.
Strong defense kept the score the same until the final buzzer sounded, as A.L. Johnson walked off the field with a hard-fought 12-8 victory.
