It was a game decided by a two-point conversion. Patrician Academy managed to complete their point after touchdown, making the final score of the game 8-6.
In what was a defensive battle, it took almost the entire first half for someone to score. With only 15 seconds remaining until the half, Hunter Hanson scored the only Eagle touchdown on a fumble recovery in the end zone. The Eagles went to the locker room with a six-point lead.
“Those kids left their guts on the field,” said Coach Wallace after the Sumter Academy Junior Varsity Eagles lost their last game of the season to Patrician Academy.
Sumter Academy kept the lead until the end of the third quarter when Patrician scored a touchdown and managed to squeeze past the goal line for the two-point conversion.
The Eagles had control of the field all night, but just could not get into the end zone on the two-point conversion.
