A perfect season in Class 4A

With the Demopolis Tigers win against Livingston on Friday night, DHS clinched a perfect season in Class 4A, Region 4.

Leaders in last Friday’s 71-0 win over Livingston were:

Dustin Gracie – 7 carries for 72 yards and 1 touchdown.

Lucious Haywood – 5 carries for 61 yards.

Devin Goodwin – 12 of 16 for 150 yards with 0 interceptions and 4 touchdowns.

Dontrell Miller – 4 receptions for 82 yards with 1 touchdown.

Chad Schroeder – 83-yard punt return for a touchdown (5th for season).

With last Friday’s win, Demopolis clinched first place in their region.

The Tigers will be taking on 5A Greenville at home on Friday night and State playoffs begin on Friday, November 12.

As far as offensive season totals are concerned, Gracie leads in the rushing department with 11 touchdowns and 730 yards.

Colby Roberts leads in the receiving department with eight touchdowns and 509 yards.

Schroeder leads in scoring with 78 points.

For the Demopolis defense, Clarke Kerby leads in tackles with 17 solos and 52 assists.

In the interceptions department, Miller leads with eight picks for 76 yards and three touchdowns.

In sacks, Ezell Braxton leads the way with 5.3, with Jacob Smelley in a close second with 4.7.

In pass deflections, Schroeder is the leader with 11.

In the fumbles caused stats, Vincent Jackson leads the team with four and Smelley has three.

In fumbles recovered, Chris Wasson leads with three touchdowns and Jackson has two touchdowns.

As far as the quarterback position, Goodwin’s season stats look pretty impressive.

Goodwin is 96-163 in passing with 1,660 yards with 31 touchdowns and only three interceptions.

In special teams/punting, Goodwin leads the way with 18 punts for a 38.2 average and a long of 56.

Seth Basinger has four punts for an average of 32.8 and a long of 36.

In the place-kicking department, Goodwin is the leader, going 46-54 in PATs.

Basinger has kicked 5-7 in PATs and Hunter Hawley is 2-2 on PATs.
