Mullens Fish and Wings Camp isn’t an ordinary business, it’s a family affair.

“He works here, his wife works here, their daughter works here, their son works here – it’s truly a family affair,” Demopolis Mayor Cecil Williamson said.

Williamson was at the restaurant Friday to mark it’s grand opening.

The restaurant, located in the old Cora’s building on First Avenue, serves everything from hamburgers and catfish to polish sausages and wings in seven flavors.

“I’m certainly not leaving here without lunch,” Williamson said as she perused the menu.

Owner Greg Mullens said he will be open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m., with breakfast, until 7 p.m.

“On Fridays we’ll be open until midnight to service the football crowds,” he said. Not only will he extend his hours to benefit hungry fans, but for those who call ahead, he will donate 5 percent of the nights proceeds to the school or football team of choice.

“I want to invite the schools, the football teams, basketball teams, whatever to come out together. If they tell us what school or team they’re with, I’ll put back 5 percent of the proceeds to them,” he said. “I just ask that they call ahead. We don’t want five schools coming in here at one time without warning.”
