The Brantley Bulldogs are well aware of the Sweet Water Bulldogs ability to run the football.

And according to Brantley head coach David Lowery, the key to them winning the game will be to slow down Sweet Water.

Last week against American Christian Academy, Brantley shocked the football world by knocking off the highly touted Patriots, 17-16.

And coach Lowery believes that defense was the key to the victory.

In 2003, Brantley lost to American Christian 28-27 after leading 27-7 at halftime.

But the Bulldogs wouldn’t let history repeat itself.

And according to coach Lowery, a key reason for their success is team unity.

I think our kids just play real well together," Lowery said.

"There’s not one strength that sticks out."

On Friday night, the Brantley Bulldogs will be facing the Cinderella Bulldogs in a battle to advance to the finals.

So what’s the key for Brantley to overcome the magical journey for Sweet Water?

A.L. Johnson head coach Mose Jones had the privilege of playing both Sweet Water and Brantley this season.

And coach Jones pointed out some key factors for both squads.

According to coach Jones, Sweet Water will have the edge on passing.

The running game is the biggest strength for both sets of Bulldogs, but according to coach Jones, both teams have some minor flaws.

Come Friday night, the dog fight begins.
