LINDEN-The Marengo Academy Longhorns hosted three other academies last weekend during their 3rd Annual Christmas Tournament. The event encompassed many different events including the tournament itself, a half-court shooting contest, and games with the peewee teams.

The tournament pitted four rivals against each other battling to see if they could beat Marengo Academy on their home floor. The tournament included the Eagles of Jackson Academy, the Saints of Patrician Academy, and the Cougars of Southern Academy and last but not least, the host-team the Longhorns of Marengo Academy.

The games to see who would play for the championship were highly contested with the four teams fighting and clawing for every bucket. After the first round of play, only Marengo Academy and Jackson Academy were still standing and played for the championship. The game went back and forth with both teams holding leads, but as the dust settled and the final whistle blew only the Eagles of Jackson Academy were victorious.
