The Linden Rotary Club recently voted to sponsor the new pack. Representatives from the Rotary Club and the Prairie District will be on hand to answer questions and explain the next steps to be taken in the formation of the pack.

u Arts Alive, the 19th annual juried fine art and craft festival will be held in Florence on May 21-22, 2005. Deadline for entries is March 4, 2005. Artists may exhibit their work in the gallery at Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts (work will be on show until June 17, 2005), outdoors in Wilson Park for the festival weekend, or in both places. Arts Alive 2005 is a juried show and awards more than $5,000 to winners.

Categories are clay, fiber, glass, metal work, jewelry, painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media and photography. Entry fee for the gallery exhibit/competition is $30 with a maximum of three pieces on slides or CD. The booth fee in Wilson for the weekend festival is $100. If not accepted, booth fee minus the $30 jury fee will be returned.
