Ernestine Warren Davis

Gallion

Ernestine Warren Davis, 87, of Gallion passed Jan. 3, 2005 in Hale County Hospital, Greensboro. Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Gallion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Timothy Davis officiating.

Burial followed in St. Andrews Cemetery in Gallion. Kidd-Robbins Funeral Directors was in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 one hour prior to service. She is survived by her husband, Joe Lee Davis Sr.; one son, Joe Lee Davis Jr., of Gallion; one sister, Blanche (Louis) Goke of Germantown, Tenn.; one brother, A.P. (Sarah) Warren of Gallion; one grandchild, Jimmy (Dusty) Davis of Nashville, Tenn.; one great-grandchild, Ty Davis of Nashville, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was a long-time member of Gallion Baptist Church. Flowers or donations go to Gallion Baptist Church, P.O. Box 42, Gallion, AL 36742.

Mr. Johnny J. McDowell

Demopolis

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Johnny J. McDowell, 67, of Demopolis were held Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 at Lipscomb Cemetery in Demopolis, with the Rev. Jim Meadows officiating.

Mr. McDowell died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at Rush Hospital in Meridian, Miss. The family received friends at Kidd-Robbins Funeral Chapel, Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Mr. McDowell was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar M. McDowell and Rera Todd McDowell, and two brothers, Leland McDowell and Elwood McDowell. Survivors include his wife, Nancy P. McDowell of Demopolis; three sons, Tony (Naomi) McDowell of Demopolis, John (Mandy) McDowell of Ralph, and Dean (Linda) McDowell of Demopolis; two sisters, Elnita Parrott of Woodstock, Ga. and Vivian Grooms of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; one brother, Phillip McDowell of Lauren, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Warren Allen, Jim Bo Patterson, Marshall McDowell, Daniel McDowell, Jimmy Patterson, James Robertson, Mike Robertson, and Wayne LeCroy. Honorary pallbearers were Frank Cole, David Compton, David S. Compton, Buddy Lindsey, George Norris, and Bo McAlpine.

Mr. McDowell attended Jefferson Methodist Church and was an avid farmer and carpenter who especially loved helping his friends and neighbors.

Mr. McDowell was very active in the community with the Jefferson Barbecue and Jefferson Fire Department. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to church or charity of choice. Kidd-Robbins Funereal Directors of Demopolis were in charge of all arrangements.

Ms. Henrietta Cook Cunningham

Boligee

Ms. Henrietta Cook Cunningham, age 59 of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Boligee, Alabama, passed January 2, 2005 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Freehope Baptist Church, Boligee, Alabama.

Rev. Willis Gulley will officiate.

Mr. Joe Alton Hall

Coatopa

Mr. Joe Alton Hall, age 57 of Coatopa, Alabama, passed January 3, 2005 at Dekalb General Hospital, Decatur, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 8, 2005, at 1:30 p.m. at Bethel-Pine Baptist Church, Coatopa, Alabama.

Rev. Floyd Bell will officiate.

Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery, Coatopa, Alabama.
