McGee tosses no-hitter, DHS wins 7-0

GROVE HILL – The Demopolis Lady Tigers softball team tossed a combined no-hitter yesterday evening against Clarke County on the road, picking up a 7-0 victory as the team now prepares for the area tournament which starts tomorrow afternoon.

Brittany McGee (18-8) picked up the win for DHS, pitching the first five innings on no hits, three walks, and nine strikeouts.

Sara Davis pitched the sixth inning and Brandi McGee came in for the seventh inning.

Leading the way offensively for the Lady Tigers was Hunter Lewis, who had two singles and a double along with four RBI.

Also contributing for DHS was Molly Barnes, who had two singles and an RBI, Brittany Thorne, who added two singles and an RBI, and India Chancelor, who picked up a double and a single.

Dorothy Knapp, Brandi McGee, and Morgan Patterson all picked up hits as well.

The Lady Tigers return to action tomorrow afternoon at home as they host the area tournament.

DHS will face the winner of the Thomasville vs. Choctaw County game tomorrow at 11 a.m.

With a win, DHS advances and will play again at 3 p.m.

With a loss, DHS will turn around and play another game at approximately 1 p.m.
