PERRY COUNTY-Perry County Schools started the school year of on a great note.

Monday was the students first day back at Robert C. Hatch School and Principal Leslie Ford Turner said students and administrators had a very busy day.

“We’ve been working on fixing schedule conflicts,” she said. “But it’s going good though.”

Although she doesn’t have an actual count of students, Turner estimates about 420 students at R. C. Hatch.

At Marion High, Principal Maxine Coley said they had a “normal first day.”

“You will always have schedule problems,” Coley said. “But they get straightened out after the first couple of days.”

According to Coley, Marion High School welcomed back close to 500 students and “had a real good opening.”

Uniontown Elementary and Albert Turner also went back to school Monday.

Marion Academy will have its first day on Wednesday, August 17.
