Head coach Jammie Abraham says the Times coverage area’s only 2A team is in much better shape entering the 2005 season than the 2004 season, thanks to the influx of a number of athletic players Hatch went without last season.

“You can see,” Abraham says, “that we have some much bigger boys this season.”

Among them is Justin Myers, a sizable tackle who proved very difficult to block in Tuesday afternoon’s practice. The Bobcats also have more overall players on the 2005 roster–more than 25, a solid number for the Hatch program–and greater depth.

Abraham and his staff still have a lot of work to be done, but at least they can feel confident in the direction the program is moving–and that maybe the die-hard hoops junkies in Uniontown will take notice.

“We’re going to be looking,” Abraham says, “to upset some people this season.”
