The city of Demopolis has a visitor from afar who is here to help uplift the community and spread the good news of Christianity.

Rev. Sam Kisembo, senior pastor of Mutungo Community Presbyterian Church in Uganda, was invited to speak at the Evangelism Emphasis Conference at the First Presbyterian Church of Demopolis last weekend. Due to unforeseen circumstances his arrival was delayed until Tuesday.

During his week-long visit to Demopolis, Kisembo will be evangelizing door to door throughout the community. He will also have a few opportunities to speak and preach.

Thursday evening, Kisembo spoke to a group of young men in the community. “I told the youth that they are vibrant,” he said, “They should put their strength toward the Lord.”

Kisembo will speak from the Book of Revelation during Sunday morning service at First Presbyterian.

Kisembo said the Lord guided him to reach every part of the world. During his first visit to the United States, he will also visit Birmingham, West Virginia and Tennessee.

He will return to Uganda Oct. 17.
