EUTAW-Greene County authorities continued investigations Monday on two serious crimes committed through the course of last week. One crime involved gunplay while the other involved another stolen vehicle.
Saturday Oct. 15 Antonio Rice of Boligee who reported a reckless endangerment offense alerted Greene deputies. According to Greene County Sheriff Johnny Isaac the two men were standing outside a local club when they got into an argument.
“He said they were standing outside the Galaxy Club in the parking lot when the suspect pulled a gun and shot down by his feet,” Isaac said. “He then put the gun to his head and threatened to kill him.”
Warrants were filed Monday. Isaac said authorities expect to take David Shermain Edwards into custody on the charge.
Earlier in the week Greene deputies were also called on another stolen vehicle report. Last Tuesday, Lemmuel Strode of Tuscaloosa returned to his property in Greene County after being in the hospital only to find his 1984 Chevrolet truck had been stolen. Isaac said the vehicle was stolen from Boligee.
“He stated that while he was in the hospital someone had come to his residence in Boligee and stole a 1984 Chevrolet pickup,” Isaac said. “He said the truck was valued at about $4,000 and there are no suspects yet.”
The stolen vehicle is one of several that have been stolen or recovered in Greene County over the last two months. Isaac said they plan to continue investigations on the case.
